You may not have heard all that much about the Equinox from Chevrolet, but the truth of the matter is that its greatness has largely been riding low under the radar in the past couple of years. In fact, it’s been statistically found to be the second best-selling Chevy in North America.
You still have the chance to experience for yourself what this compact crossover has to offer, though, with the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox model.
Under the Hood
The engine largely remains the same as with its predecessors. There’s a 2.4-liter four-cylinder standard variant, as well as an optional 301-hp 3.6 liter V6 in the LT and LTZ trim levels. If you get the higher specs, you should be able to enjoy the chrome exhaust tips that come along with it, as well as the 3500-pound towing capability. If you prefer it, you can also enjoy the 4WD functionality.
Most of the changes implemented on the new Equinox are to its technology features and details. For one, projector-beam headlamps come standard for all trim levels, but the LT and LTZ also get running lights and LED accents. The cream of the Equinox crop, LTZ, will feature brand new fog lamps, too. On another note, all trims will sport new taillamps.
Of course, as is now expected for all Chevrolet releases, 4G LTE connectivity, built-in WiFi, and the Chevrolet MyLink are now staple implementations. The LT and LTZ versions, however, will also enjoy additional safety features such as rear-cross traffic and blind-spot warnings and alerts.
There’s a lot to get to know about the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. In case this is your first time encountering this winning compact crossover, you better head to trusted Chevy dealers in El Paso for more info.
